Although Competition and Intellectual Property Law are relatively new fields of law in Peru, our Firm has developed specialized knowledge of them both.

 

In the field of Competition Law our expertise comprises providing legal counseling to clients in the areas of Antitrust, Unfair Competition, Fraudulent Commercial Advertisement, and the Protection of Consumer Rights. Our Firm is recognized internationally as a preeminent Peruvian firm in the field of Competition Law.

 

In fact, our Firm was recently interviewed by the European Community Commission on Peru's Free Competition Legal System as part of the "Free Competition Project", carried out jointly with the Andean Community of Nations Likewise, in the field of Intellectual Property we advise clients in registering and protecting all types of distinctive signs, patents, utility models, and copyrights as well as in protecting these rights through litigation and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. We have also advised various clients on the licensing and transferring of distinctive signs.

 

Finally, the Competition and Intellectual Property practice group actively participates in the development of proposals aimed at improving local laws and regulations on these subject matters.
