Estudio Ferrero Abogados has provided legal advice to various investment banks in mergers, acquisitions, split-ups, and corporate reorganizations of private and public companies in Peru and Latin America. In addition, our Firm has legally assisted investment banks in the financial advice they have provided to the Peruvian government as part of the privatization process (of shares and assets), and the concession of infrastructure projects which began in the early 1990's.

 

Our Firm advised Salomon Smith Barney Inc. (now "Citigroup") in several of these processes, such as the sale of shares of the multinational bank EXTEBANDES to Standard Chartered Bank, for an amount of US$ 170 million, and the sale of Peru's government shares in Edelnor S.A.A, a power distribution company. In addition, our Firm advised Salomon Smith Barney in the various contests called for by Peru's Government to select a financial advisor for the privatization of assets and shares, and for the concession of infrastructure projects.

 

Our Firm advised the New York investment bank Violy, Byorum & Partners Holdings, LLC, in representing Bavaria Group from Colombia in the acquisition of shares from the Unión de Cervecerías Peruanas Backus y Johnston S.A.A., for an amount of US$ 420 million, which was later increased to US$ 1,000 million.
